Enrollment

You must fill out an application for enrollment. There is a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee which must accompany the application.

Curriculum

The curriculum is 300 hours and it is an open enrollment program. Each student is allowed to attend the program days, evenings, and Saturdays. We offer flexibility to meet your needs.

Oceanview is also a full time grooming salon. This enables students to have constant hands-on training with all breeds of dogs and cats in a grooming salon atmosphere.

Topics include:

Safely handling dogs and cats
The appropriate shampoos and conditioners for different coat textures
Recognizing skin conditions and parasites
Bathing techniques
Brushing and de-matting
Clipping nails
Ear cleaning
Shaving paw pads
Scissoring
Hand stripping
Extensive demonstration

Equipment

Each student receives a starter kit that consists of clippers, two blades, two combs, two shears (straight and curved), a slicker brush, and an all-breed text book.
